Tutoring Program

"I'll be OK in life
if you can teach me to read."

The Episcopal Refugee Network Tutoring Program provides one-on-one tutoring for 40 Sudanese children and 30 Karen children, ages 7 - 18, free of charge.  Each week the children learn and practice basic reading and math skills.
They also receive enrichment in current events, geography and map skills, research skills, and poetry.  Field trips to art, history and science museums, and sporting events enhance their learning experiences.  Positive reports from San Diego teachers have let us know we are helping these children.
